So far Ruby has managed to sign a contract to more than four magic monsters to be acting as her arsenal till the day she dies. With a renewed focus, and her new friends able and ready to teach her more about the world outside Fortune Islands, she is more than ready to tackle the world with a great anticipation for danger and excitement every step of the way!
Sex: Female
Age: 17
Breed: Emu
Likes: Adventure, companionship, collecting magic monsters, flaming bandana owned by Stream the Hawk.
Dislikes: Injustices, evil doing, bugs/insects/creepy crawlies.
First Appearance: Chapter 01 – The Explorer’s Era
Interesting Facts:
Ruby was originally from Flynelle (The ‘Land of Sky’) and was serving the Queen of the floating kingdom, Althyia, ever since she mastered the rare magic technique of ‘summoning’ (bringing out magic monsters that come from the Netherworld) without the aid of magic staves. She was one of four ‘Guardians of Flight’, a prestigious gathering of paladins that protected the Queen and was involved in the daily delegations of the council that governed Althyia.
However due to a string of events she winded up in Fortune Islands and was mysteriously transformed back into a kid while Aaron Tidewalker (the apprentice she was training in Flynelle at the time) remained a mature teenager. Having lost her memories of her true identity she continues to uphold the same personality and traits as she did back in Flynelle.
The green gemstone that she is wearing was the power source that kept the kingdom of Alythia afloat. Should the gemstone fall into the wrong hands who would know what evil could succumb from it?
[For more information on Ruby’s back-story please read ‘The Story of Aaron Tidewalker’ documented in the LOG BOOK]

Profile:
Ashworth is a mercenary of the GRAND GETZ, he loves a good fight, craves for meat when he’s hungry and is one optimistic wombat. Despite being lazy and having a pretty laid back attitude he is the big brother that you wished you had – he’s fearless, strong, and protective to the vulnerable, whooping bully-butt, literally. No one knows much about his past or his ambitions, with the exception of a few people within the band of GRAND GETZ rogues and colleagues.
Ashworth’s special ability as a pyro-mage is to perform alchemy with his Black Flame – it ignites, it eats and it moulds raw elements, which are stored within the user, into any compound that can be used as a weapon or tool. His Black Flame however is not considered a fire elemental magic that attacks. Mortal beings cannot be harmed by the Black Flame when it is on its own however this is the complete opposite if used in the Netherworld (that is the demon world). How the Black Flame works it’s magic remains a mystery, it’s properties remain a super secret to those who use it, and there aren’t many out there who can.
Being a pyro-mage who fights well is a rarity – and Ash can be pretty strong on the offensive to those who underestimate his capabilities. Pyro-mages in the old days were used in settlements for civil engineering, building and construction. In fact the original purpose of their magic was to be used to forge metals, using the most basic of natural elements, to build shelters and technological equipment to improve the production process. Wombats were able to build cities using next to nothing because of this.
Ash doesn’t believe that fights solve all problems – he usually talks it through or tries to avoid confrontation where possible. However his signature rule is that if one insists to fight him he will take the offer or when others are vulnerable to a threat beyond control he will step up and use all of his might to stop it. Deep down he feels that there he has a small responsibility to protect the weak, it’s the least he can do to prevent other Glorians from having the kind of life he’d gone through in the past.
Sex: Male
Age: 18
Breed: Wombat
Likes: Adventure, eating meat when hungry, siestas, creating his own special attacks (and naming them from 100 onwards).
Dislikes: Injustices, bullies and bad guys, Fei (when he’s being annoying), Great Leader Sandra (when she’s being a tough old bag).
First Appearance: Chapter 07 – Friend or Foe?
Interesting Facts:
Ashworth’s chest bears a uniquely shaped emblem in fur that easily identifies him. This emblem has made it’s appearance in various accounts (including the one seen in the flag representing Fortune Islands or during Duke’s explanation of the Ancient Powers with Salah after defeating Aaron Tidewalker). Why is the name ‘Ashworth’ associated with the character and the symbols mentioned above? Are they the same or could it be all a coincidence?
In addition his back is marked with an ‘X’ scar, it is gouged pretty deep and hard to miss. These elements may help explain his origins and the powers that he possesses as a highly skilled pyro-mage. Perhaps he is not a mortal being from the parts of ‘Humble Earth’… Some who had witnessed his power suggest that he is actually a demon reborn from the Netherworld and brought back to the real world to live again.

Profile:
Ma Fei is a young kung fu master that can kick your ass even before you blink. He’s quick, agile, and powerful which makes him a formidable warrior. Fei proves to be an asset to the GRAND GETZ and follows Ashworth in a lot of his adventures for the heck of it. He has developed a sort of a brotherly bond with Ash but they don’t always get along – brothers naturally fight don’t they?
With regards to his attitude he is a pretty cocky guy and enjoys a challenge whenever it comes. That could explain why Fei and Ash are always going against each other, they compete to prove who’s stronger.
Fei comes from Eastern Kingdom and was trained at a young age at Tian Xia Monastery in Mount Shen. Because of his natural prowess in the martial arts he was mentored by Master Fung who was the head of the monastery. Fung devoted his time to teach him the powerful and ancient techniques of the mountains.
However because of Fei’s ego and selflessness he took a risk to learn the forbidden techniques kept hidden deep in the monastery. Master Fung failed to stop Fei from acquiring the secrets but challenged him to a duel to the death to pardon his actions.
Fei lost to his master but was spared at the last moment. He was punished with exile from the monastery from thereafter. Fung also nullified his ability to speak, through the application of a forbidden technique of his own. His master had done this for the sake of preventing Fei from passing on the deadly secret arts of the mountains to other kung fu practitioners (through the convenience of speech) and also to discipline him in taking full responsibility of what he did at Tian Xia Monastery.
Oh and you might be asking – Fei can still pass on the forbidden techniques in writing – the problem with that is that he avoided school in the monastery at a young age and missed out on classes that involved hand writing to communicate (he found the classes boring, despite her younger sister encouraging him to go everyday). He’ll probably be regretting it but his time spent outside of school gave him the practice and experience he needed to become such an apt and versatile kung fu practitioner.
Sex: Male
Age: 18
Breed: Mountain Horse
Likes: Adventure, her sister Fang Xing (he misses her cooking!) & friends at Tian Xia Monastery, siestas (learnt this from Ash), challenges.
Dislikes: Injustices, Ash (when he’s being annoying), Master Fung (still holds a grudge against him for what he had done in the past).
First Appearance: Chapter 09 – Reunion
Interesting facts:
Ma Fei has an adopted older brother and younger sister living in the monastery at Mount Shen. He hasn’t been back since his exclusion from Master Fung who is the keeper of the monastery. Fei likes waterfalls and cherry blossom trees because it reminds him of a special promise he had made to his adopted siblings at Mount Shen.
His little sister, Fang Xing, is still residing in the monastery as a well respected member of the community. She dearly misses her brothers. Feng is the eldest of the siblings who apparently died during a voluntary mission to save one of the provinces of the Eastern Kingdom from a ruthless invasion.
Years after Feng’s passing Fei had encountered a mysterious person, who appears to look almost like his older brother. The intruder along with a band of powerful figures attacked Mouth Shen Monastery and Fei was brutally defeated. Perhaps this explains Fei’s desperation to acquire the secrets from his master – to become more powerful in order to hunt for the truth behind the attack at Mount Shen!

Profile:
Corny claims himself to be the almighty Demon of Mischief, one of the Four Gatekeepers of the Netherworld. His true origin remains a mystery and happens to be one of the cutest looking things on the planet. However don’t let his looks fool you! He can pack quite a mean punch and is actually quite a monster in the heat of an argument! He’ll be a jerk to anyone who doesn’t believe that he is the Demon of Mischief.
He became Ruby’s mentor since the incident with Stream the Hawk in Fortune Islands. Corny was on a mission to train Ruby until she is able to regain her hidden power of summoning magic monsters from the Netherworld. At first things didn’t work out between the two, because of their disagreements and clashes in the attitude department – he’s a strict and stubborn old timer type who thinks his methods are right while Ruby was a little more open about things and is not afraid to deviate! As time passed the two began to work together and acknowledged each other’s faults. Eventually a strong bond was developed and they became closest of friends.
Corny still continues to be the inconsequential being that he is to Ruby and others that don’t believe him to be the Demon of Mischief but he can be quite a softy if you get to know him better.
He has magical powers that remain a mystery, his signature abilities include: being able morph into just about anything and his most popular – being just able to create just about any kind inconvenience for anyone and if pushed to the limit, complete havoc.
Sex: Male
Age: ???
Breed: ??? (Apparently he claims to be a demon, and a pretty famous one too!)
Likes: CORN!! (he loves to eat it, he loves to cook with it!), cooking, telling stories, nagging, creating trouble.
Dislikes: Anything cute (especially his cursed ‘cat-like with bat wings’ appearance), anything pink, nobody believing that he is the Demon of Mischief.
First Appearance: Chapter 09 – Reunion
Interesting Facts:
An unexpected talent of Corny is that he is an excellent cook, probably matching Dale’s most famous chef named Albert Falenski winning 5 Michelin stars for his restaurant in Flemming, but having said that he is also a tough critique when it comes to food. He’ll dish out one of his boring nagging sessions on why something wasn’t cooked right if you’re unlucky. Surprisingly he takes criticism well in his cooking, he’s more than happy to listen if there is something that doesn’t suit to your tastes should he cook you something. He has an odd obsession with anything corn – corn is his secret ingredient!

Profile:
Aaron Tidewalker is someone who had lived a humble childhood with a big family that always worked hard to make a living. He had a dream to serve the queen in Althyia and alongside her most trusted warriors – the ‘Guardians of Flight’. He is cunning, multi-talented, loyal and possess a natural talent for combat which makes him stand out from the rest of his siblings who wanted a career in serving the queen. Because of his hard work, and a strong commitment to serve his country, Aaron had managed to climb the ranks fast and gained privilege to work alongside with Ruby who is one of the ‘Guardians of Flight’.
Several years after a recovery from a dangerous decent to Dale with Ruby (please see ‘The Story of Aaron Tidewalker’ for the backstory) Aaron was conducting a top secret operation on Fortune Islands. He was disguised as a popular and trustworthy local hero known to the citizens that lived in the archipelago as, ‘fortune hunter superstar’, Stream the Hawk. From there he carried out the devious plot under the provision of a terrorist syndicate called the No-Origin-Assembly (aka N.O.A.).
His mission was to spread propaganda about the existence of the ancient powers of ASHWORTH (not to be confused with the wombat character as explained above, though there may be a natural link to be explained in future) were to be found deep in the vaults of the islands. However he was soon discovered by T.R.A.P. (Taluca Royal Agents & Patrol) forces lead by Captain Duke Vienna and Vice Captain Salah. The investigation from T.R.A.P. forces resulted in a direct confrontation with Aaron which lead to his ‘apparent’ death, and ultimately, the termination of his operation on Fortune Islands.
During the encounter with Duke Vienna, who delivered the finishing blow, Aaron was injured critically but survived. Aaron escaped Fortune Islands, leaving Ruby behind and returned to N.O.A. headquarters where he was given the next assignment by the head leader – Ember. His primary objective now was to capture Ruby and retrieve the green gemstone that contained powers that kept the kingdom of Althyia afloat. Who is this Ember? Why does she want Ruby and the stones so badly? More importantly, is Aaron still the loyal and good natured person that he was when he knew Ruby in Flynelle?
Sex: Male
Age: 28
Breed: Hawk
Likes: His home (back in Althyia, Flynelle), Ruby, philosophies of life, collecting knives, the black gemstone given by Ruby.
Dislikes: N.O.A. (personally), Duke Vienna, pubs with beer sold out on the day.
First Appearance: Chapter 01 – The Explorer’s Era
Interesting Facts:
The black gemstone that he wears on his chest is a memento of his youth. It was given to him by his favourite ‘Guardian of Flight’ Ruby. The black gemstone actually holds special powers that can only be controlled with a strong enough will and Ruby trusted Aaron to use it after he became her acquaintance. It is rumoured that the black gemstone can only be acquired from the peak of a hellish volcanic mountain where an ancient lava dragon sleeps at his lair and guards the gemstones from those who dare to steal it.

Profile:
During Duke’s early years training as a soldier in Flemming (headquarters of the famous ‘Vienna Legacy’) he had managed to defeat twenty men that were twice his size, unarmed and unfazed. Fearless, and above all, a justice fighter, Duke rose the ranks in the world’s biggest military force, the Taluca Royal Agents & Patrol (aka T.R.A.P.), and became one of the four most powerful Overlords controlling a battalion of troops and a private battleship.
When approached he is a very reserved person, he’ll speak when he needs to and tends to keep conversations formal. Duke is intelligent and uses his smarts to overcome challenging situations. Despite his reserved nature he can unleash terror to anyone who dares to challenge him in combat.
As captain of the Diamond Edge, Duke values his crew including his vice captain, Salah Jiwa, who have been close friends and colleagues since joining the higher ranks in the military. They both work well together but sometimes Salah doesn’t agree with Duke’s devious methods (Duke doesn’t always abide by the rules of the government). No matter how complicated the matter he will ultimately follow his own gut instinct to resolve the contingency.
Recently he doesn’t trust T.R.A.P. after discovering it’s hidden purpose – To Retrieve Ancient Power. He returned to Flemming to investigate with Salah on how the organisation fell out its roots. T.R.A.P. was supposed to be a military force that dealt with international terrorism and carried out investigations on crimes that posed a significant threat to the community. He hopes to bring justice to those responsible for making T.R.A.P.’s become a tool for the Monarchs, powerful government leaders that control the Western and Eastern kingdoms of Dale, to gain power over politics and also to put an end to their villainous operations.
While Duke is focused on the internal affairs regarding T.R.A.P. he is also keeping an eye on Ruby ever since his encounter with her and Aaron on Fortune Islands. He feels that there is trouble brewing for the whole world if N.O.A. get’s their dirty hands on the ancient powers of Ashworth (again not to be confused with the wombat). Either way it’s up to Duke and his crew to save the world from corruption and terrorism, one step at a time.
Sex: Male
Age: 26
Breed: Snow Fox
Likes: Justice, His vice captain and crew, the Frost Rapier passed down by his father, Vienna Legacy, mysteries.
Dislikes: Injustices, N.O.A. (No Origin Assembly), T.R.A.P. (Taluca Royal Agents & Patrol, true acronym = To Retrieve Ancient Power), disloyalties.
First Appearance: Chapter 02 – Ruby The Unluckiest Fortune Hunter
Interesting Facts:
Duke’s sword, the Frost Rapier, was handed down from generation to generation through the ‘Vienna Legacy’. His father, a well respected and honourable figure in the kingdom of Flemming, was the former owner to the powerful and magical weapon.
The Frost Rapier is no ordinary sword it has ice elemental properties that enables the user the ability to cast more technical and powerful magic against elements that are weak against water and wind. On it’s own, the sword is light and easier to handle than the heavier varieties (i.e. broad swords, wide swords, long swords etc…) making it effective for those looking for more control on their swing and piercing. Duke can execute an array of impressive techniques with the sword including a powerful and swift defensive manoeuvre called Harmony Defence.
The story behind the death of his father is not often brought up (it’s usually kept to him), all that is known is that N.O.A. was responsible for it. Duke still cherishes his family in Flemming especially his deceased father and believes that it is his destiny to continue uphold his family’s tradition in carrying out justices to the whole world – it is a tradition where the proud Viennians have kept for many generations. While maintaining the legacy Duke is in pursuit to determine the ones responsible for tarnishing T.R.A.P.’s original intent as an organisation defending the lost and vulnerable, and also, find out who exactly killed his father.

Profile:
Salah was originally brought up from a regal setting, he learnt all the things that wealthy and privileged people had to abide by such as etiquette, politics and using money to make more money. He lived with a rich family that housed many siblings, all rather talented and strictly mannered to the fashion of aristocrats (many of his older brothers and sisters were rather cocky and competitive of one another). Salah was the only one who singled out in terms of having a good natured personality but he hid this from the family to save face.
From a young age he knew deep down that this kind of lifestyle wasn’t suited for him and at times he would explain to his father and mother in private that he just wanted to be a normal person doing jobs that didn’t involve the money or politics. His parents were not impressed by his attitude and continued to force him to continue his studies. He was also threatened that he would not become a part of the family should he deviate their ways. One day Salah had enough and at the age of a mature teenager he secretly quit the school of economics, that his father and mother had insisted him to study, and left home.
Ever since then he had been living on his own and looked for a job with a real cause. Salah wanted to do something that involves his hands and not just the brain. So he decided to join the world’s famous military force – the Taluca Royal Agents and Patrol, in hopes of doing a good cause for the innocent and to those who lived in poverty, fear and distraught after unfortunate incidences (such as the First Great War, theft, murder etc…).
He also wanted some excitement in his life, he wanted be involved in something that is rather adventurous and the military offered plenty of it especially when the world was at the prime of the era of fortune hunting. This is an era where people rob and pillage just for the sake of freedom, fame and fortune.
After several years of hard work in the military force, he used all of his charisma, intelligence and vigilance to earn himself a spot in one of the highest ranks in the organisation. From there he was joined by Duke Vienna in a partnership to become one of the four only ‘Overlords’ that enforced power and authority, by legitimate means, throughout the entire globe.
Sex: Male
Age: 26
Breed: Rat
Likes: His notebooks (he collects them too!), his crew and captain, fine wine and cheese, good natured people.
Dislikes: Injustice, misfortunes, bad aura, evil forces, good cheese that is spoilt.
First Appearance: Chapter 01 – The Explorer’s Era
Interesting Facts:
Not many people realise this but Salah has this unnatural power to read into people’s mind. Though it has its limits the accuracy of his readings is very close. Furthermore he has learnt, through telepath, to track down people within one hundred miles using their aura as a signal, and by using their blood sample he can enhance his tracking senses by an impressive tenfold. How he was given these abilities still remains a mystery, Salah was probably a telepathist since his birth according to one theory.
In addition to his mind reading capabilities he also gained the ability to use elemental fire magic from his intense training at T.R.A.P.’s ‘Magic and Force for the Talented’ school. He is proficient in offensive and defensive use of his magic abilities, combine this with his navigational skills he is a valuable person to the crew and deserving of the title as vice captain of the Diamond Edge.
