This is an excellent opportunity for fans and comic-making enthusiasts to watch how I come about in the ‘comic making process’ (for the first half of the process that is!). Everyone has their own way of creating a comic from scratch, in my case I’m very straight forward, messy and visual basic compared to other comic artists.

I’ve researched on a number of professional comic artists who use methods that involve writing up a proper script, drafting their work on legitimate and expensive comic paper (you know the ones with the guidelines already printed on them) and have notes drawn on sketch pads. I’ve devised something similar but without all that flair and fancy-pants stuff. All the paper I’ve used so far to draft my rough script, originals and notes have been done on office or copy paper (A4 & A3 size). As for the script I just type it up on Microsoft Word to check up on grammar and spelling mistakes. I use Thesaurus.com to help spice up some of the dialogue used in the script.

What truly matters is using a style that fits your needs and one that you are most comfortable with. Go and experiment, I encourage all comic artist enthusiasts to do so! So long it gets the job done, and you’re happy with the results, you’ll be set on making your very own comics in no time.
