Boy! What a difference it is with colour! Sorry I was hanging out at my bro’s place to play Mortal Kombat and hell was it an epic reboot of the series.
Looks like Zac has a plan and it’ll most probably involve a little bit of havoc since it’s going to require a direct approach to get to that speedboat – it’s their fastest ticket to Cape Locke, they have to find Ruby and retrieve the Auroris Stone!
Nevertheless apologies for the lateness but it is better late then never!
Enjoy and thanks again to Evan for the outstanding colouring work! I’ve added in the effects for Panels 3 & 5 at the very last minute – cuz I got to go to work in about 5 minutes! XD
[PAST ENTRY - 24/04/2011]
Hey everyone! Sorry but looks like there will be a delay in the colouring process!
Evan Stanley will be doing her best to get the page coloured as soon as possible!
In the meantime let’s check out what it looks like in sketch form. Once I get the file from Evan I will update it into this post.
Also! I will be posting a new journal on my new deviantART account and a new piece of artwork that is different from my usual forte of anthro cartoon styled drawings!
Hope you all had an excellent week! *thumbs up*

XD! Hey! Is that one dude on the radio there, a walrus? XD
@ LittleGah: Don’t you think a walrus would have huge fangs sticking out of his mouth? XP
I had a strange feeling this page would leave the New Crew to deal with their troubles in an off-screen manner.
After all, wouldn’t want to show off the Action just yet, eh?
The next-to-last panel looks really good, basically because it shows the guys ready to move out, and I like their expressions.
I especially like Zac’s tattoo on his hand and his overal appearance; no doubt that the mark is his sign of affiliation to his Organization.
@Jshadowhunter : Yes, but being anthro like I figured maybe he would have no tusks to show the more “human” side to him. I can’t think of any other creture that looks like a seal but has a furry mouth like that. Unless it IS a seal but happens to have a beard.
I hope the new page comes up soon.
I feel a bit uneasy about that jackle guy, not only does he have a metal plate over his right side of face, but now I noticed he’s also missing his ear. Is he an android?
ANd when can we expect to see new fanart?
Coloring a comic page weekly and above everything, with Evan’s very skilled style is one big challenge. In case if she is going to color more pages in a sequence, I think that’s better to upload the colored page in the next sunday as normal upload (of course in case she will did it during this week) to give her more time. Or uploading the comic in two in two weeks.
Sorry guys and gals! I’ve read your comments but I didn’t get the chance to reply to them! XD And what did you say Emily? A walrus? …. Hmm… He probably is!
Banter with regards to the mark on Zac’s hands, yes it does associate to the clan he used to belong to, but not anymore.
What amazing and beautiful effects that was put on this page! And once again, Evan did an fascinating job on the coloring. Definitely worth the wait!
Man…Ruby and the others have quite a pack of dangerous, very skilled people coming after them for the stone. How will they get out of this when they all come face-to-face with each other? Exciting isn’t it?
Thanks Sepiawolf!
Goodness me! I totally forgotten to make a mention about the last panel! XXD
I wonder who those guys are at the prison tower? ^^ From the way they talk they seem to sound not too bright… Bandits that we may have known from before in earlier chapters of GH? Who knows?
Gears? That bitch is robotic???? Well, before I had a fall for robots that looks like humans but that actually were mechanical (like the movie A.I) so that’s some interesting concept!
…..hehehehehehe, I wonder if the bitch’s circuits are water-proof *shakes fists*
Oh god! The Valture Gang’s back! XD I kinnda doubt they’ll be part of the action tho, considering they’re under lock and key…unless there’s a 4th member working on the inside. =P
Wow! Cool page! Wow? Are the Valture boys really in jail there, as Jaka said? I didn’t even know Trap got em! XD!
By the way, I like the way you posed and drew everyone on the bottom left panel. It’s a good pose and they look like they’re ready for battle.
But my GOSH! EVERYONE’S after Ruby! Why could this stone be so important? What will become of Ruby and all of her friends??? And WHY am I asking so many questions?!
@LittleGah: When you carry around an Artifact that’s capable of leveling entire cities or opening the gateway to untold riches and excitement, you can pretty much figure the Gods are on your side when you have a lead on said Artifact…but that’s just a guess on my part regarding the Auroris Stone.
As for Ruby & Co., I foresee confrontations…maybe even a little Jail Time for somebody? My money’s on Ruby getting caught and having to depend on Ash, Fei, and Corny on busting her out.
As for the questions…that’s what being a reader and fan is all about!
The Desire to Know is always present when trying to discover the many mysteries behind a story.
aw biscuts! =( no more TGH
Elson, I’ve been a big fan of yours ever since I first saw your work. And I can definitely understand the struggle with working on a comic. My suggestion is take a break. Maybe try something different with the comic, change the atmosphere a bit when you draw. If you alter the ‘setting’ in which you draw, you’ll find yourself more focused. The time factor, I can definitely understand too. But if you can somehow manage to pencil in whatever time you have to yourself (i.e: days off, when you get off of work, etc, etc) I’m sure you could manage. You’ve inspired way too many people to quit now, man! We need ya!
@Banter-O-Rilley : XD! Well, thank you very much, for sharing your thoughts!^^ But I was just being silly and over dramatic. XD You know, like those narratorsome of those random anime shows. XD
And the : And WHY am I asking so many questions bit, was just to be silly and crazy. XD They used this very line on Yu-Gi-Oh GX I believe…But anyway, I like how you said you saw the story anyway, very interesting. ^_^
I read your blog post you linked to in your edit. I know you don’t know me very well, but I’ll just drop off my opinion.
I have the sincerest respect for you, and all that you’ve done thus far with your artistic career, and in the Sonic community. I’m a bit sad to see you get discouraged, especially seeing so far you’ve come- with redesigning your room, setting up these new sites, and trying to break from your old dA. You’ll hafta excuse me for blabbering here, I tend to write my thoughts, so this might get TL; DR.
On your comment “I have to be realistic about my work and focus on what I do best – drawing and entertaining through imitation and fan art.” I think that’s being a bit brutal on yourself. What got you to the top on your old dA (imo) was your Sonic work. But there’s a large following with the Sonic franchise; and sadly a lot of them are a lot younger. So upon embarking on your own work, you lost a large majority of “fans.”
But I mean, anybody can draw Sonic (maybe not as good as you can, but I mean hey-) but it truly take someone with skill and enthusiasm to build up such a devoted following to characters of their own creation. Throughout Grand Hunter/ Ashworth Fortune I’ve seen the places, situations, and characters kinda grow with you. You drew on inspiration from your travels and friends; and I s’pose just plain youthful carefree-ness.
So don’t put yourself down. What you’ve accomplished, solo at that, is amazing. I’m not posting this comment to put any pressure on you, either. As a huge fan of yours, I’ll proudly support whatever it is you chose to do. Taking a break to contribute to one of your fellow artists will be a good way to shake the monotony of literally “working” on Grand Hunter. Maybe you’ll get an inspirational spark from your planned holiday up North. Just remember to enjoy yourself. Whether it’s fan-art or your original creations, even if they be few and far between, I’m sure your passion will show. So you’ve got a fan in me.
Hey guys and gals! Goodness me thanks for your words of encouragement Ryuskrew & Shadowwhisker! I really appreciate the thought put into your feedback and concern for my creative well being. So far it’s been great taking a break from this GRAND HUNTER project, I’m having a lot of fun animating stuff and it’s just wonderful to be able to do something different and rewarding as a hobby artist.
Nevertheless I’m still thinking about the GRAND HUNTER series, I’ll take my holiday trip to Canada and the United States and see what happens from there. I will do my best to inspired again and work on this series with a refreshed mindset and goal! *thumbs up*
